Competed in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), a multi-day team competition in applied mathematical modeling, while at the University of Colorado Boulder. Tackled three different open-ended modeling problems over three years:
- Modeled traffic flow at toll booths and proposed an optimal toll booth-to-lanes ratio (honorable mention).
- Explored and constructed measures of fairness for Congressional redistricting to avoid gerrymandering, and proposed a fair district assignment (meritorious award).
- Modeled the spread of AIDS in Africa and considered the impact of varying degrees of protection and United Nations aid (honorable mention).
